Staff surveys and focus groups I carry out staff surveys
using both qualitative and quantitative methods on a
range of issues including stress, culture, and leadership.
These are particularly useful in times of change, not just
to take a snapshot, but to monitor trends.
Each survey is individually designed but typically would
consist of three stages:
- Structured interviews with senior management and key
stakeholders
- Focus groups with representative groups of staff
- Questionnaire survey of all or representative sample
of staff
I also run one-off focus groups on specific issues. For example with local authority
staff to inform policy development in connection with a new
Recruitment and Selection policy, to obtain the views of
psychologists working in Europe, and planning for an
international conference in Turkey (see below).
